The project was handed over on schedule and with zero defects, and the completed facility was transferred to the users in stages by the end of 2023.
The two-story property was originally built on a challenging plot of land. Almost all types of land and foundation construction solutions were used on the site to achieve the optimal result. Techniques employed included stabilization, driven piles, bored piles, blasting, slab-on-grade foundation, and rock anchoring.
The extensive project was completed in approximately 10 months, following an efficient construction timeline. This was made possible by an excellent client organization with supervisors, reliable subcontractor networks and partnerships, as well as Tekova Oy’s experienced design, implementation, and procurement teams.
This project has been awarded the BREEAM in-Use environmental certification in April 2024. BREEAM in-Use is an international assessment method that verifies sustainable construction practices. Within this framework, responsible solutions are evaluated through a multi-level set of criteria.
Kiinteistö Oy Variston Helmi has been built to achieve an A energy rating, with geothermal heating as its main energy source. Additionally, the property’s roof has been equipped with a solar panel provision for future installation.
Tekova and the client, along with their representatives, are very satisfied with the project.
